ANAC and BIOFUELS

In these days of growing concern for global warming, more and more fleet operators tend to convert from classical fuels to biofuels ( Biodiesel FAME, Pure Plant Oil  PPO,…).

ANAC follows this positive approach by launching new analysis techniques that allow these fleetowners to make optimal use of these ecological solutions.

With conventional analysis methods, the incidental contamination of these unconventional fuels in the lubricant cannot be measured. Therefor, Anac has implemented new analysis routines that can measure it.

Two different methods have been introduced, each for a different type of biofuels:  FAME (Fatty Acids Methyl Esters) concentrations are measured with the newly introduced Gas Chromatography method, while Pure Plant Oil (PPO) is detected with Infrared spectroscopy.

With a close ANAC monitoring, fleet owners with awareness for the environment now are fully assured to benefit from all the ecological and economical advantages brought by the use of biofuels by reducing technical risks to a minimum.
